June 2009 Cyg-net Book 24 Greater integration with MS Word

Putting customers first. An unlimited number of 'Tag' master letters can now be created in MS Word and saved to the Cyg-net. Output letters, regarding customer events, - are populated with event information by tag replacement and now open directly in MS Word for Pre print and /or further editing. These are all stored as 'Event letter archives' and also on the Customer side - so all set correspondence and ad hoc correspondence can be quickly retrieved/checked from cyg-net as part of the customer relations management system.
This means that your staffs MS Word skills are all that is needed for customer correspondence. These can be auto emailed or posted to the Customer.

February 2009 Virtualisation of Cyg-net Book24 Success !!

The Cyg-net Book 24 online booking Resource solution was successfully migrated into a Virtual environment by Serco on 28/1/09 and all is running fine. Basically this means emulating new hardware to achieve improved reliability, security and productivity.
Virtualisation is a big step forward in providing a more cost effective solution (less hardware to maintain/administer) and at the same time provide a more robust and efficient web application. January 15th 2009 Hall keepers move to Web admin clients

Web admin interfaces went live for the hall keepers this month. they can now access real time data on bookings with a fuller picture on Space booking requirements and contact numbers in a simple calendar diary/ web page.

January 2nd 2009 Borough wide Web Foyer displays testing

Full testing for the new Web Foyer displays went ahead this month. The screens with real time information and JS clock have a simple design so meeting times and information can be easily displayed at screens at York house the civic centre or if required other venues around the borough registered on the cyg-net booking system. Each display is quickly and easily configured using the codes for the venues and rooms in the URL - the screens meet RNIB guidelines and save on the expense of embedded information displays. Public notices can be added if required.

November 2008 full Admin web client in live production

The initial feedback on the transition to using live Web Admin Clients is positive from the administrators, web users and the network managers. Full 'CAMERA ' control allows much quicker and easier confirming/cancelling, adding, Moving, editing ( with real time stock control), repeating (copy, paste) -with auto e-mail notification.

October 2008 More efficiency and new business increase

The second financial quarter again showed increases in efficiencies for our customers. Despite the credit crunch, more bookings are being taken in less time, increases in new customers and increases in measurable efficiencies

September 2008 More online web control for users

The summer ezine feedback got a good response from users wanting to increase the control over their own bookings using the enhanced editing mode. this included adjustments to their bookings over the web in real time, e.g. adding or changing equipment (with live stock control), changing catering orders , the Space/day and times of the booking and much more. The 'my bookings page' is now of simpler design - making it easier to check existing bookings at a glance.

June 2008 Improved communications with Customers >90% reduction in e-mails

The second quarter Improved efficiency in communications trial with LBRUT has shown a further reduction in the numbers of e-mails exchanged - a reduction of more than 90% in the previous year! . Overall in the period from 1st January to 1/7/08 there has been 95% reduction in the number of e-mails to communicate. This has been achieved by using a 'Live web notice Board 'blog' ', weekly quick telephone catch ups and occasional structured meetings

May 2008 diaries first 3rd Party to XHTML standard

Following meeting with the web team representative we are excited to be the first 3rd party supplier invited to meet the new web standard LBRUT are adopting XHTML. John convey of Sci-do said - We already have XHTML on the diary and we just need to fit this into the new LBRUT template. so the transition should be swift. We are very pleased to be meeting this new site standard.

April 2008 Pilot of editing Intranet bookings

Richmond council Intranet bookers are piloting editing their bookings online under their 'My bookings' login. Its quicker and easier to change times, titles etc and saves contacting the booking office. the aim is to widen to all users this summer. the changes are all in real time with booking clash prevention, stock control live.

December 2008 Open standards just got wider and more secure

Cyg-net is built using Open standards and the focus till now has been on communicating with high and medium size systems in a cost effective and efficient non invasive way e.g.. Connecting to SAP using SOAP or Capita AXIS Credit card portals using secure and flexible XML calls and ODBC plug-ins to Oracle mainframes.

Cyg-net 2008, the latest release version, now widens its scope as a secure Open system by adopting more to industry standards with a core SQL database engine layer and standard SQL language and full Unicode support for multi-language in non western fonts. "This now makes Cyg-net the Facilities and booking management tool of choice to managers wishing to link to other systems efficiently yet in a safe and secure environment."

August 2008 Shared Services - self and mediated online easy booking management

Cyg-net leads the way in 'Shared Services'. Separate locations/services can use the same online booking service thereby benefiting from economy of scale. Independent diary private views or public views are easily configured. Views can be added at anytime. Bookers can use standard channels or give the option of 'Mediated booking' or self service - you decide. There are a number of levels - provisionals that must be approved, immediate confirmation, key users can have more control e.g. -ability to cancel, change booking details times/ Refreshments ordered or equipment.

Sci-do Communications launch online Civil Ceremonies booking 24/7 putting council Customers First with the ultimate in self service. Customers wishing to tie the knot can simple check the big day is available and instantly book and pay online day or night They can use the Cyg-net 'Look and Book' online calendar/ diary, a simple booking form, then pay online confirming and securing their Ceremony booking. John Convey director of Sci-do said "this is a big step forward, we are enabling councils to meet Varney efficiency targets saving the costs of traditional channel booking and at the same time help give customers what they want - to be able to book their Wedding/Civil partnership out of working hours/at weekends -when couples usually plan their big day". The Cyg-net system links seamlessly and securely with the Capita payment gateway using the latest 'shopping cart' XML interfaces. Sci-do Announce Measurable Efficiencies and increased uptake of services from councils using Cygnet online booking at their successful tGOV seminars. Attendance is up on last year with great interest from councils from all around the UK. CEO's , Service managers and IT managers alike were all keen to see the Live demonstrations of 'mobile' secure booking on stand E28. There was great interest shown in the ease of checking availability of halls and rooms on the graphic diary pages and then making a booking. They were shown how authorised staff can book a space, refreshments facilities in a few seconds remotely or tele-working for internal meetings and council meetings
